End of Android? Google's New Operating System โ€“ Test

fuchsia

ย ย THE Google is working on another operating system. Discovered last weekend, Fuchsia has not yet been officially revealed, but the source code is already available on GitHub. From the documentation, it is possible to know that Fuchsia will be able to run on more powerful smartphones and computers. And look how curious: unlike Android and Chrome OS, it is not based on Linux.THE Android Police, who analyzed the Fuchsia source code, found that it is based on the Magenta kernel. This Google page says that Magenta derives from LK, a core that is typically used in simple devices with low hardware capacity and well-defined tasks. Think of something like a router or an in-car entertainment panel, for example.

However, the Magenta kernel โ€œtargets modern smartphones and computers with fast processors, non-trivial amounts of RAM, and arbitrary peripherals doing open-source computing.โ€ And it has some very important differences from LK, such as the ability to support user accounts and security features like permissions, which would allow Google to build a full-fledged operating system.

It was also discovered that Fuchsia is programmed in Dart (a language created by Google), has an interface built with Flutter (which allows you to develop Android and iOS applications using the same code) and features a rendering engine called Escher (which supports shadows, reflections and other visual effects widely used in Material Design).

You can see a small preview of this operating system by downloading a launcher, but it is just a preview, not the operating system itself, the download is just below:
