Instagram began removing likes from photos and videos this Wednesday (17) for Brazilians. This measure is part of tests by the social network that had previously carried out the test in Canada. The main objective “is to ensure that users focus more on the photos and videos than on the number of likes they receive”.
Com a mudança, somente o dono do perfil terá acesso aos números totais das publicações. Em nota, a empresa afirmou querer criar um ambiente no qual as pessoas deixem de se sentir em uma competição. A expectativa é que uma mudança desse tipo possa ajudar usuários a se importar menos com as curtidas e mais com as histórias.
The update is happening gradually and soon all Brazilians will no longer see likes. It is not known for sure whether this update will remain as it is a test.
