Instagram began removing likes from photos and videos this Wednesday (17) for Brazilians. This measure is part of tests by the social network that had previously carried out the test in Canada. The main objective “is to ensure that users focus more on the photos and videos than on the number of likes they receive”.
With this change, only the profile owner will have access to the total number of posts. In a statement, the company said it wants to create an environment in which people no longer feel like they are in a competition. The expectation is that a change of this type can help users care less about likes and more about stories.
